I always preferred the X-Box and its Red Ring of Death. (For some reason, that phrase has always brought “ring around the collar” to my mind. Perhaps due to the aforementioned gallows.)

You forgot about zombie processes… Not to mention, worse yet, the Blue Screen of Death. (and it’s cousin, the pizza wheel of death.)
